Erin’s career in cheerleading started at an early age. After getting her start in middle school, she continued on to the high school varsity team. As a senior, she was named captain of the team. Erin earned All-American, Top Gun Dancer, Top Gun Tumbler, Top Gun Stunter and Top Gun Jumper honors during her high school career. At the collegiate level, Erin cheered for two-time NCA College National Champions Lindenwood University while pursuing her degree.
After completing high school Erin chose to follow her passion for cheerleading and coaching as an instructor with the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA), the original and most prestigious cheerleading company in the world. Three years later, she was asked to become a head instructor for the company and join their choreography team. During her twelve years with the NCA, Erin has been named Top Instructor and Top Head Instructor.
Erin has been certified through level six for the past nine years. She also has many safety certifications, including first-aid, CPR and ACCAA. Working with athletes of all caliber and age has always been a passion for Schmeltz which led her to open Fury Athletics in 2011. During this time Fury teams have won 53 national titles. Fury teams have also achieved top finishes at NCA All-Star Nationals and The Summit. Erin and husband Phil welcomed Fury’s youngest cheerleader, daughter Rosemary, in November of 2015.
Phil is a native of the Kansas City Northland. He graduated from Liberty High School and earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of Missouri’s College of Business.
In addition to his business experience, Phil has been involved in cheerleading for the past seven years. He's currently certified USASF and works many state cheerleading conferences with the National Cheerleader's Association (NCA).
Phil has a great mind for tactical organization. He works hand in hand with wife Erin to maintain the high caliber programs and FAmily atmosphere offered at Fury Athletics.
